I haven’t had fresh Lake Smelt in years since we moved from Michigan to Wyoming, the freshness and flavor brought back those great memories I had as a kid waiting for my father to fry some up in his special beer badder. Thank you!

Product came as advertised and on time. I did overnight shipping and contents were frozen and showed no signs of thawing. Everything was great quality and only small complaint was the size of the fish was a little smaller than I expected but I will definitely order again. I received 12 individual packages and they are perfect meal size packages for me. They were dressed which save a lot of cleaning time. Smelt is not readily available in Houston so after 4 years of living here I was finally able to get a taste of home.

Very happy with the freshness and flavor. Also happy to find it was in one pound packages. My only complaint isn't actually a true complaint. The area I grew up in we left the tails and fins on. We always thought that was the best part. Was slightly disappointed to find out that they were removed. All and all a great product however.

I have been looking for smelts for years. My husband found Walleye on line and I have been pigging out on smelts and happy. Thank you. Love that they come in packages. Easy to store in freezer.

What a treat!! We use to go out with the nets & get washtubs full of smelt. Here in TN we missed them. You quenched our appetite for them. My son & I ate a bag full he fried up for us last night. Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to doing more business with you. How late can we get smelt in case we want a large fish fry for friends???

satisfied customer smelt are small so I don't get complaints about bones. When I get larger smelt I get complaints about the bones. Smaller smelt keeps the finicky fish eaters happy.

I have ordered from Walleye Direct a couple of times and even though I live on Lake Erie I still prefer to order from Walleye Direct. They sell a great product and it's processed in a proper fashion. The smelt are cleaned and ready to cook. I love smelt but down here we use them for bait. The smelt I get from Walleye Direct go directly into a batter and a deep fryer and my tummy. Nothin Better.

I purchased these Smelt to have a Smelt fry for my Grandparents and I couldn't be happier! They cooked up great with a simple batter and were tastier than I expected they would be. They come in 1 pound packages so keeping the portions in order is simple! I highly recommend these fish!

Smelt came packed well. As described. Had a big smelt fry and it was great.
