Sunfish / Bluegill Fillets - 5 lbs
- Skin on Fillets - Individually Frozen
- Wild Caught in Canada
Bluegills go by many names depending on the area of the country--Sunfish, Brim, Bream, Pumpkinseed, Coppernose, call them what you want and order the wild caught frozen fillets here.
Sunnies are what I remember catching as a kid on family fishing trips and cabin weekends. They bite like crazy when you find them and fight a good battle. They aren’t as big as the walleye, but they are just as tasty—and with WalleyeDirect.com you don’t have to scale and clean the little ones.
Because these are smaller fish the size of the fillets can vary with the season. (It depends what we catch--sometimes bigger fillets, sometimes a bunch of little ones)

3/5 stars Tried Bluegills first time, 12.14.2015

The Bluegills have an interesting taste. Very flavorful while they were a little chewy. Glad I enjoyed them with parents who said they remember the taste and it was just like when they were kids growing up in the south.
5/5 stars bluegill filets, 11.17.2015

I expected the filets to be larger than they actually are. Although reluctant to order fish with skin on, I found that soaking the filets until thawed and running a sharp knife between the skin and the meat removed the meat with very little, if any, loss of meat. The filets were covered in butter and cracker meal, placed on a pan, and baked in the oven; and proved to be quite tasty without any "fishy" taste.
4/5 stars Good Sunfish, 6.22.2015

I have enjoyed the sunfish I have prepared so far some are a little small but they taste good. Not sure if I will reorder next time.
5/5 stars Quality of the Blue Gill - very high, 3.15.2015
Reviewer: Pam Perrino (Hamilton, OH)
We are picky because we eat Okeechobee Bass. I had my two uncles for dinner who were both on the Bassmaster fishing circuit. We all enjoyed them. But loved the Blue Gill. Found it to be sweet, flaky with nice sized filets.
5/5 stars Best bluegill, 12.30.2014

The bluegill is so fresh. Better tasting, in my opinion, than the ones caught down here. Shipping was great and everything arrived in time for my Christmas meal
