Lake Trout Fillets - 11 lbs

Sadly, the fish was very dry and had a bitter taste. I broiled it once and the other time light flour and pan fry quickly. It tastes like very old frozen fish, not at all like frozen Lake Trout i got from Bailey's Harbour. So I am stuck with 8 lbs of frozen yuk.

I was intially put on a waiting list, but received a notification email quite quickly that it was back in stock - after which I pounced on making the purchase. And very glad I did! The package arrived on time and and in great condition. The filet meat is delicious; so far, I've roasted it whole and made fritters with it, and both methods have produced fantastic results (especially the fritters!).

These I do not fish for but love them smoked really liked the individual packaging they came in. Tried them broiled and they were excellent as well

Sorry to say this. My second time ordering the trout. This time it looked mushy, rammed in sealed bags with tail end all curled up. Had to make a white sauce just to eat it. Last time I baked it with nothing. Nice and tender and not dry at all. I will think twice about ordering again. $600 is a lot for fish and second time around I was expecting more than what I got.

We did not care for the Lake Trout fillets. I did re order,, and received the RUBY RED STEELHEAD TROUT... And we luv them... ,, and I will order again.. they are sooo good

This was my first time having lake trout and I can say I loved it. Baked with some spices and also just plain, " I enjoy most" air fried the skin also for my dogs

Ordered 20 lbs of lake trout, ups had mechanical trouble and package I was supposed to receive on a Friday came on a Monday. UPS stated they are not on the hook if delivered within 1 business day of scheduled delivery. something to consider when ordering, Package came with outer fillets partially thawed inner fillets still frozen. I immediately smoked partially thawed fillets and salvaged the frozen ones. As for the trout, it was excellent. Brined and smoked the partially thawed fillets and finished product was superb. Fillets came individually vacuum sealed and were of high quality. I will order again.

I ordered Lake trout fillets and they arrived in Boston MA completely frozen, nicely packed and on time! Love the taste and NO bones! I will go "fishing" again soon!

Back for another order of Lake Trout. This is a fatty, flavor filled fish full of Omega 3. It has a strong flavor which we love, but if you like your fish to be light and flaky and have little taste, this may not be for you. If you like Salmon (a distant cousin I think) which has a distinct taste, give it a try. We love the flavor and the texture and the health benefits. We normally cook it just by seasoning then searing on both sides - maybe 4 minutes per side - in a hot cast iron pan. It is yummy!

The trout was packaged for easy storage. I breaded the trout with a pecan coating and it was met with raves and second helpings. With summer coming up I am thinking about using some in a trout boil in our tripod kettle outside. These fillets are versatile for a variety of recipes.

The trout was delicious and well-packed in perfect servings. I ordered 11 pounds and will certainly reorder when needed. Great service and product!
